2011 Shepton Mallett Classic Bike Show.
Another successful show which focused on the clubs fund raising activity through the Coast to Coast, Spirit of the Sixties and the Sunflower Run.
Bikes on display ranged from classics through modern superbikes to Clive Coopers Honda Six replica and Bob Farmers Aermacchi. Two TVs were showing videos and pictures of previous runs. We received a lot of visitors who were impressed by the friendliness displayed by the guys on the stand.
A great team of helpers enabled us to set up the stand on Friday in good time and on Sunday we cleared the area very quickly enabling everyone to get away at a reasonable time. Many thanks to all those who gave up their time both for setting up and manning the stand during the weekend.
The show was a great mix of trade stands and club entries. The Wells club stand next to ours gave us a flavour of summer with their Ride out to Weston display complete with Pier, Punch and Judy and Candy Floss. Pity it wasn’t a bit warmer to complete the image.
The auto jumble is always interesting with optimistic pricing for stuff we would have binned years ago unfortunately there were no wing mirrors for sale (hard luck Henry).
The planning for next years event will start at the September meeting so that we can get the bike and names in the programme and hopefully we will also get a bigger site.
Any ides for a theme would be most welcome.
